Things to do in Cheshire
We’re so lucky to live in Cheshire - gorgeous countryside and some terrific tourist attractions to keep you entertained if you do feel the urge to head out for the day. Here are a few of our suggestions:

Beeston Castle and Woodland Park (6.9 miles)
Beeston is one of the most dramatically-sited medieval castles in England. On a clear day you can see all the way from the Pennines to the Welsh mountains. Oh, and it’s got a 40-acre woodland park and 4,000 years of history.
Blue Planet Aquarium (14 miles)
The biggest aquarium in the north west, Blue Planet is next to Cheshire Oaks retail and leisure complex in Ellesmere Port, and boasts Europe’s largest shark collection, which you can view through the 71-metre underwater tunnel. You can even swim with them apparently!

Chester (10.3 miles)
The historical city of Chester is only a few miles down the road from Willington. It has a charming cathedral, city walls, the River Dee, a fabulous zoo and history dating back to Roman times.
Chester Zoo (10.5 miles)
This is a great zoo and a fab family day out; 125 acres of zoological gardens and over 27,000 animals to discover. Who had the job to count them all, that’s what we want to know!

Chester Racecourse (10 miles)
Race days, polo and family fun days - lots to keep everyone happy at one of the country’s best known racecourses.
Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet (12.7 miles)
Did someone mention retail therapy? Open 9am until 9pm weekdays, and until 8pm on Saturdays, you really can shop ‘til you drop - and save money on a wide range of designer brands in the process.

Go Ape Delamere Forest (6.4 miles)
Adrenaline-filled adventure at its best - you need a head for heights, but the treetop courses and zipwires are a great way to explore this fabulous forest.
Oulton Park Circuit (5 miles)
If you’re what they call a petrolhead, then head here. Race days - be in touring cars or rallying, track days and driving experiences, there should be something to sate even the most ardent appetite.

Tatton Park (21 miles)
As well as Willington Hall itself, Cheshire is blessed with some gorgeous stately homes - one of which is Tatton Park. There are acres of parkland and gardens to explore, an impressive 18th century Mansion, historic working farm and adventure playground.
